Landscape Architect and Director
James Comiskey
James is a landscape architect and landscape consultant with more than twenty years of experience across landscape architecture, landscape design, horticulture, construction and project delivery.
A graduate of University College Dublin with an honours degree in Landscape Horticulture, James also holds a first-class qualification in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment from the University of Limerick. He is a full member of the Garden and Landscape Designers Association, serves on the GLDA Council and teaches landscape construction at Pearse College, Dublin.
James began his professional landscape architecture career with Ketch Landscape Architects in Cork, working within multidisciplinary teams on residential, commercial and hospitality projects. He established About Your Garden in 2009 and AYG Landscape Consultants in 2021.
His approach combines landscape planning and assessment with practical knowledge of horticulture, construction and long-term landscape performance.
Design judgement grounded in delivery
James’s design and construction experience includes private residential landscapes and show gardens in Ireland and the United Kingdom. His awards include a Silver-Gilt Medal at BBC Gardeners’ World Live and a Bronze Medal at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show.
This practical background informs landscape strategies that consider establishment, maintenance and long-term performance from the outset.
